Westfield Stratford City
Westfield Stratford City, the 1.9 million square foot retail and leisure destination has been designed from the outset with the future in mind.
With London winning the 2012 Olympic bid the project lead time was reduced from ten to six years. As the gateway to the London 2012 Olympics, one of the biggest challenges was integrating the fact that 70 per cent of visitors to the Olympic park would arrive through the shopping centre.
SAS International’s Project Management team, with Westfield’s in-house design team, worked to a strict six month timeline to design, supply and install long-term sustainable metal solutions throughout the development, including ceilings, bulkheads, spandrel panels, bespoke exterior cladding and column casings. The team worked closely with Westfield to design systems and solve intricacies that answered the inspirational aesthetic demands of the design concept.
