Project Co-ordinator - SAS International - Reading, UK

Job Description

The Project Co-Ordinator role is a marketing/Sales role. It does not require Prince 2 Qualification. Candidates should ideally be graduates. Construction experience/knowledge is desirable but not essential.

 

The Role

  1. The core objective of the role requires the Project Co-ordinator to pro-actively produce and generate business opportunities and sales leads for the SAS sales team to sell SAS’s interior products and services into the construction and property industry. 

 

  1. The role requires that they should focus on new business generation utilising the primary and secondary leads provided, and that at the same time manage existing projects in their portfolio.     

 

  1. The roles requires that primarily using the telephone and other business tools, the Project Co-ordinator uses all available means to contact professionals in the construction and property sector with the aim of selling and marketing SAS’s products and services and gathering information on construction projects. 

 

  1. The role requires that they manage a portfolio of projects that they track, update and flag with their field sales counterpart as and when that specific project requires sales executive input.

 

  1. The Project Co-ordinator is expected to support all field sales activities to ensure that SAS’s client base is provided with literature, product samples and excellent service.

 

  1. They should over a period of time become an expert in the region or business sector they are allocated.  They should develop a good knowledge of the construction and property industry.  They are expected to contribute to the sales team’s business activities and demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a team and on their own.   

 

  1. The Project co-ordinator is expected to develop an understanding of the activities their field sales counterparts undertake and what their aims and objectives are.  Over a period of time they should be able to support and manage the sales executive’s portfolio.  They should be able to provide comprehensive reports of a qualitative or quantitative nature of their business regions or sectors.   

 

  1. The Project co-ordinator is to have a good working knowledge of SAS’s product range, SAS project history and a general understanding of the construction and property industry.  They are expected to have the aptitude and attitude to learn these elements of the role.     

 

  1. The role requires that all project activities should be logged and managed on the SAS database.  The database should be kept to a high degree of accuracy regarding all aspects of the project.

 

  1. It is expected that the Project Co-ordinators along with all members of the company absorb the culture, values and work ethics of SAS.  The role requires that work is conducted in a professional, focused and diligent manner.  The onus is on the employee to manage their workload, time and portfolio and to be able to produce what is expected of them in the appropriate fashion.
