UK manufacturer, SAS International, to expand Architectural Metalwork manufacturing facilities in Maybole, Scotland

SAS International, a world leading UK manufacturer of interior building products, is pleased to announce it has recently won planning permission to extend its manufacturing facilities in Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland.
To be constructed on a previous landfill site, the 7,500m2 extension will add capacity to its range of Architectural Metalwork products.
Mark McElhinney, Managing Director of SAS International comments; “The expansion at Maybole is a result of significant growth and demand for our high quality, innovative, bespoke Architectural Metalwork for projects within the UK and our growing export markets. It shows our on-going commitment to invest and develop our UK based manufacturing facilities.”
SAS International is the largest employer within Maybole; John Gemmell, Operations Director at Maybole, adds “this investment not only secures existing jobs at the site but we also expect to recruit around 50 additional staff once the site is fully operational; it enables us to continue to play a pivotal role within the local community.”
Local councillors also commented on the expansion plans, SNP councillor Ian Douglas said; “This is a wonderful good news story and one that is very welcome.” And Conservative colleague Bill Grant added; “I can only applaud the success of this industry in South Ayrshire and its ongoing commitment to the community.”
SAS International’s has been manufacturing its Architectural Metalwork products at Maybole for 25 years. The products manufactured includes acoustic baffles and wall panelling, service bulkheads and rafts, column casings and bespoke integrating metal solutions.
Maybole is one of three SAS International UK manufacturing facilities, accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OH SAS 18001, which rank amongst the most modern and fully equipped in the world.
The manufacturer’s experience and knowledge ensures efficient design solutions meet performance, aesthetic and budget criteria.
