SAS International shortlisted for two AIS Best Practice Awards

SAS International is pleased to announce it has been shortlisted in two categories of the AIS Best Practice awards 2011: The Training Innovation Category for the SAS International Step Training Programme and the Product Innovation Category for Emac Hanger.

The awards recognise outstanding innovation in the commercial interiors industry and allow AIS (Association of Interior Specialists) members to celebrate their successes. Winners will be announced at the AIS Conference on Tuesday 22^nd November 2011.

Step Training Programme

SAS International has recently introduced a series of skills development training initiatives for employees at its facility based at Waterton Industrial Estate in Bridgend, Wales. Employees have the opportunity to undergo a series of continuous improvement training programmes to further develop skills as well as knowledge of the whole manufacturing process, and construction industry. 

Emac Hanger

Rigid hangers have been widely used for over 20 years for the suspension of metal ceilings however SAS International redesigned the solution creating the new Emac Hanger to be a competitively priced alternative to galvanised angle or suspension wire. SAS International understands the importance of this crucial product to help projects be delivered on time and to budget, whilst eliminating excess wastage on site, and has invested in new machinery which enables production of over 40 Emac Hangers per minute, equating to 2,500 per hour.
